The Hidden Dangers in Our Water Supply
In recent months, the FBI and national security experts have raised alarms that U.S. water systems are increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks—particularly from China, Russia, and Iran.
The warning is sobering: hackers are actively probing our water infrastructure, waiting for the right moment to strike.
But truth be told, our water systems are already compromised even without the threat of outside attacks.
Back in 1984, I had to create an advertisement as part of my study assignment, in the years when I was studying body-centered psychotherapy.
In the voice of an ET from a desert planet, I urged the audience to drink clean water and eat healthy green veggies.
Later in 1986, I came across the MultiPure Filter, I got one for ourselves, and became an independent distributor.
What really excited me at age 25 was that this company gave commission 10 levels deep, even on super affordable Replacement Filters.
I had heard from the upline friend that he was making $ 800 US per month just on the commission of the replacement filters. WOW. I wanted to help my social security check, which, though 40 years into the future, I was sure was going to need support by me.
One of my clients was a renowned tennis star, and she discovered that by not drinking chlorinated water anymore, her colostrial levels dramatically dropped.
To this day, nearly 4 decades later, she still promotes the MultiPure water filter.
Since then, the water crisis has only gotten worse in the USA, actually, worldwide.
Many city facilities are decades past their safe operating life. Deteriorating infrastructure, aging pipes, and negligence mean that what comes out of your tap is often far from “pure.”
Add to this the arsenic, plastics, chlorine, forever chemicals, pharmaceutical residues, and hormone disruptors already found in countless municipal systems, and the risks become undeniable.
I don’t want to send you news about doom and gloom—but truth be told, we have to wake up and…smell the coffee! Which tastes better with clean water, by the way!
The water you drink is your body’s most essential nutrient. Protecting it must be a priority.
Unfortunately, many households still rely on filters that look reassuring but don’t actually remove the most dangerous contaminants.

This isn’t about doom and gloom—it’s about awareness.
The water you drink is your body’s most essential nutrient. Protecting it must be a priority.
Unfortunately, many households still rely on filters that look reassuring but don’t actually remove the most dangerous contaminants.
Pitcher filters, for instance, can’t handle bacteria, viruses, or heavy metals.
Bottled water may sound like a backup plan, but it’s expensive, polluting, and often contaminated with microplastics.
Even “standard” filters without proper certification lose effectiveness after a few gallons, letting toxins slip through.
That’s why I strongly recommend the MultiPure Water Filtration System—a certified, lab-tested system that filters down to 0.5 microns. I have used one since 1985, and my closest family members each have one. I take them traveling.
I have them in our Shambala Retreat Center, in Bali, where I use the additional UV Filtration MultiPure Filter.
MultiPure Filters reduce:
-
Harmful bacteria and cysts
-
Viruses and parasites
-
Heavy metals like arsenic and lead
-
Pharmaceutical and hormone residues
-
Chlorine, VOCs, and more
Unlike many filters, MultiPure systems are independently tested and proven to work consistently—not just for a couple of gallons.
And they’re designed for daily use in a modern household, giving you water that tastes fresh, pure, and safe.
In times of growing uncertainty, one thing you can control is the quality of the water you and your loved ones drink every single day.
That’s why investing in a MultiPure filter isn’t just a health choice—it’s a lifeline.
Every day you have to drink clean water, not just read about it!
So here’s my invitation:
* Get your own filter (your body will thank you). Look at my Nick and Ding Special offer here: https://ilonaselke.com/waterfilter/

However, you need to drink clean, pure water.
Polluted water is hard on our health and oftentimes makes us not want to drink water in the first place.
Our kidneys have to work overtime filtering all the pollutants out of the water, and now they are finding even residue of medicines in municipal waters, as the municipal water treatment plants are not able to keep up with the immense load of medicine that is entering our wastewater.
A study from 2016 detected more than 100 different pharmaceutical substances in the aquatic environments of several European countries. In Germany and Spain, more than 30 different pharmaceuticals were detected in tap water.
That makes our tap water potentially harmful to our health. Read more about this HERE.
What most of us don’t know is that
1) Our municipal water treatment systems are not able to keep up with filtering out the medicines that find their way into the sewage and consequently into our drinking water. Just imagine what that means to the water you’re drinking.
As of today, most wastewater treatment plants lack the capability to remove pharmaceutical residues entirely. euronews
2) The same applies to bottled water.
About 25% of U.S. bottled water sold is purified municipal water according to a four-year study by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Both, Aquafina from PepsiCo and Dasani from The Coca-Cola Company originate from municipal water. systems. Wikipedia
3) Furthermore, most people think that the Fluoride (that is added to tap water for drinking) is healthy.
Actually, it has been proven to calcify the pineal gland, which has to do with melatonin production and the regulation of your sleep cycles.
Initial studies on animals showed that fluoride accumulation in the pineal gland led to reduced melatonin production and an earlier onset of puberty.NIH
There are so many details you should know about Floride, I urge you to take a look at this article from the NIH And you can read more here Facts about Floride
Have you, yourself, ever noticed that regular tap water doesn’t taste good? Have you noticed that it smells like chlorine, and you find that you simply don’t drink it?
We need to feel good about what we drink and trust the source of our water.
What water source can you trust? Many people resort to bottled water. Apart from the fact that it is expensive, and wastes tons of resources, is not Earth Friendly, as it requires bottles to be made, and to be shipped, and we spend resources getting it.
To make matters worse, bottled water is often very polluted!
A new study has found that the average bottle of water contains nearly a quarter million fragments of “nano plastics” — plastic particles so small they can potentially gum up the machinery of human cells.m see info by HILL.

All right, let’s agree on the fact that we do need water to stay healthy, and keep ourselves hydrated and that we need clean water. I will help you find answers later.
So, my next question is:
Do you know how much water and fluids you should drink per day?
You will be surprised to read that the MAYO CLINIC suggested that a healthy adult living in a temperate climate needs…. a lot of fluids/ water. The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is:
-
- About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men
-
- About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women
These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages, and food. About 20% of daily fluid intake usually comes from food, and the rest from drinks.
That is a lot of fluids, and most people don’t drink nearly enough water. Just ask yourself: “How much water and fluids do YOU consume per day?“
We are often too busy and computers/cell phones have a way of making us forget to drink more water. Have you noticed that too?
* Did you know that not just your skin but your kidneys and intestines can only do their job effectively if you drink adequate amounts of fluids? Most people think they need to take a laxative, when in fact they simply need to hydrate more. It is that simple!
* Did you know, that dehydration can masquerade as hunger? Yes, we often reach for a snack, even if all we need is water.,
Here is a Hack: Keep a water bottle (not made of plastic) handy! It encourages you to drink more water, helping you avoid unnecessary snacking and keeping your body well-hydrated.
What helps in the hydration process?
Water is a miracle worker for the skin. However, without minerals the water simply flushes out and through us and does not hydrate the cells.
Even worse, demineralized water literally steals minerals from our bodies.
Demineralized water is hungry for minerals and will pull them from your bones, and cells, to return to the natural pH for water.
Therefore never drink water that is depleted of minerals, such as distilled water, (you are not a steam iron) and even rainwater. It is all demineralized. Believe me, I experienced it firsthand.
When we used to live in Hawaii we had to live off of rain water which is similar to drinking distilled water. It took me a little while to figure out why I got leg cramps within a week of coming to our Hawaii home. It was because I did not have enough electrolytes.
Many people have thought that drinking distilled water would be the answer. However, demineralized water without any further enrichment is not appropriate for drinking and long-term consumption of such water types may result in various health risks, says a study carried out by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Minerals help maintain elasticity and suppleness in the skin because electrolytes pull the water into the cell, where they then do the cleaning. So my Aruyvedic Therapist was right, I didn’t have wrinkles on my neck much like people who love to drink coffee and tea, both are dehydrating agents, but I also rehydrated by making sure I took electrolytes. My husband and I have used TRACE MINERALS for over 3 decades, which have helped me personally elevate kidney pain, muscle cramps, and low energy.

Additional Hydration Tips:
Try to infuse your water: If plain water doesn’t excite you, try infusing it with fruits like lemon, berries, or cucumbers. Not only does this enhance the taste, but it also adds vitamins and antioxidants that are great for your skin.
And remember to hydrate before meals or about 30 minutes after you have eaten: Drinking a glass of water before each meal can prevent overeating and drinking 30 minutes after your meal allows for the full digestive juices to do their job, and then afterward helps in better digestion
Finally set reminders: It’s easy to forget to drink water during our busy days. Utilizing the power of your phone by setting reminders on your phone that alert you can be an excellent way to stay on track.
What to do when traveling?

Don’t let the quality of your drinking water compromise your health when you travel. I am sure that you have found yourself drinking even less water when traveling.
Lugging bottles into the hotel room is not done. How many [people have you seen doing that?
I have another Health Hack for you! The AQUA MINI Multipure Water Filter!
This filter is what I used when traveling on my many seminars to Europe for over 35 years, and Florida, where I was leading the dolphin swim seminars.
In the above short video, I show how easy the installation process is one that anyone can follow, ensuring that you can enjoy purified water with minimal effort even when traveling.
